2017 Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award

RICHLAND School District 88A is proud to announce Mr. Phil Robb, Director of Bands, is the recipient of the prestigious 2017 Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award (COMEA). This award has been presented annually by Quinlan & Fabish since 1989. Nominations are accepted from throughout the Music Education community and are voted on by a committee comprised of all of the previous award recipients. Each year, three educators are selected in the Elementary/Junior High Division and three are selected in the High School/Collegiate Division. He was nominated by his peers for his dedication to his students, his work in and around the field of instrumental music, his leadership in professional organizations, and his dedication to excellence.
Mr. Robb commented, “This recognition is a tribute to the hard work of our students, the growth of our program, and the dedicated support of the RICHLAND & Crest Hill community. I am extremely humbled by this recognition, and thankful to have the opportunity to work with RICHLAND’s amazing students and staff each day. Our program is not just about any one individual, but the collective contributions of students, staff, administration, Board of Education, volunteers, community members, and business partners. All of these individuals ‘Make A Difference’ in the lives of our students each day.”
The 2017 Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Awards will be presented at Quinlan & Fabish on Tuesday, June 13th at 7:00 PM. RICHLAND is happy to share this news with the community and is grateful for Mr. Robb’s dedication to the students and staff here at school, as well as the contributions he makes in the broader educational landscape.
